We transform a technical material, originally designed to sail and withstand extreme conditions, into unique pieces for everyday use.
Nautical sails are made with high-performance fabrics such as Dacron (high-tenacity polyester), technical laminates, and other fibers specially developed to withstand constant tension, UV radiation, salinity, and sudden temperature changes. When they are no longer suitable for sailing, they retain exceptional structural properties. Instead of becoming waste, at Dvelas we give them a second life.
Each sail that arrives at our workshop is carefully selected, cleaned, and treated. We analyze its textures, markings, numbers, reinforcements, and original seams to integrate them into the final design. We don't hide its past; we make it its greatest asset. Signs of use, reinforced areas, and variations in the weave tell a true story of the sea and wind.
We operate according to the principles of the circular economy, extending the life cycle of a technical material that requires a large amount of resources to manufacture. We are committed to responsible production, limited series, and waste reduction, making the most of every candle fragment.

Reusing nautical sails reduces waste and avoids the production of new technical materials, a process that involves energy consumption and industrial resources. Each product is unique. The marks of use, the race numbers, the original reinforcements, and the stitching are all part of the design. No two sails are alike after years of sailing, and therefore no two pieces are identical. We don't mass-produce items: we create pieces with their own identity.
